Summer Picnic – Monday 06.17.13

We are planning this year’s picnic at Peebles Island State Park – All are welcome

Monday, June 17, 2013 – 10:30am – ?

Our section has reserved the covered pavilion, which comes with a grill. The section will also cover hamburgers, hot dogs, rolls, and paper goods. I would ask everyone to bring a dish to share and any beverages (adult or otherwise) that you would like.  Once I have an idea of how many people will be joining us, I will send out a list of things to bring.

Please  RSVP to Jen Carbone at

The park is a park located at the confluence of the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers. With 191 acres, the park includes hiking and cross-country ski trails, as well as earthworks dating from the Revolutionary War and a Visitors’ Center detailing the island’s industrial history.

The park offers picnic tables with pavilions, river views, miles of hiking and biking paths, fishing, and cross-country skiing. The park includes the Matton Shipyard on neighboring Van Schaick Island in the city of Cohoes.
