Jan 16 Zoom Member Meeting Speakers and Image Review

Zoom Meeting: No Charge

Capital Champlain will be zooming in the New Year as most of our members will be attending Imaging in Nashville the following weekend.  We thought we’d stay home and gather via zoom.  Our agenda will be out of the ordinary too!

Three of our incredibly talented Master Photographers and CC members will be sharing software and Photoshop tips that they use and may be a game changer in editing your images.

If you are working on a degree Ken Bovat has found a software that uses solar curves to find issues in your files that you can’t see with the naked eye.  He will share this editing gem with us which he finds very helpful when preparing for  Merit Image Review at PPA.

Rob Near will be sharing his research and results in finalizing a project for his church.

Over the years Rob has photographed many events at his church and they talked about creating a large mosaic image from all of these images.  The challenge was to find software that would help him create the mosaic automatically.   Rob will go over the options and processes of producing mosaics using TurboMosaic, the software that got the job done !

Our 3rd member and Master Photog,  Mark Sweeney will talk to us about efficiency in Photoshop.  Where the possibilities are endless!!

AND THEN… We will be having a Merit Image Review, critiqued by our Masters, followed by an Image Naming Party!

SO GET YOUR IMAGES READY!!  The masters will critique your images based on the 12 elements of a merit image to prepare you for PPA’s monthly Merit Image Review.

THE MEMBERSHIP WILL JOIN IN AFTERWARDS.  We will be offering up possible “Titles” for images going to Merit Image Reviews next year.  Many refer to the Title as the 13th element.  It could make the difference between a merit or non merit image.

Jim McLaughlin will be collecting the images and running the slide show.  We can count on Jim to keep it interesting!  Links to Jim (for images) and Zoom will be sent to all who RSVP!

March 20th Member Meeting: Speaker Clark Thompson on Sports Photography

Live Event: Pay at Door

Speaker:  Clark Thompson

Program: “Catching the Action” in Sports Photography

Clark is an avid sports photographer capturing action for youth, college, adult and professional sports throughout the Hudson Valley and New York city area.

Clark will share his years of experience stepping up to the challenge of “catching the action” in sports.   Not unlike sports the key is in the practice.

Clark will share some successes and some failures.   As we know you can’t win them all but you can have fun trying!

We will learn how a passion for photography and sports can become a profitable business with practice and perseverance.

About Clark
